The School of Political Science and Public Administration (SPSPA) at Walailak University recently hosted a warm opening ceremony for the International Academic Mobility Program. Acting as the host institution, Walailak University welcomed esteemed delegates and exchange students from the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), Indonesia. The collaborative event took place at the Khao Luang Meeting Room, located within the Cooperative Education and Career Development Center Building, setting a welcoming stage for a promising academic partnership.
During the ceremony, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jeerawat Sangthong delivered the foundational report on the project’s background, followed by a warm welcoming address from Asst. Prof. Dr. Neeranat Kaewprasert Rakhangthong, Acting Dean of SPSPA. In a heartfelt response, Dr. Octo Dendy Andriyanto, Director of the Indonesian Language Center for Foreigners at UNESA, expressed his deep appreciation by stating that “Walailak University is like a second home.” The formal proceedings also included a student handover conducted by UNESA lecturer Ibu Meilita Hardika, which gracefully concluded with an exchange of commemorative souvenirs and a group photograph.
The atmosphere throughout the event was highly impressionable, highlighted by a Welcoming Poetry Recitation from a representative of the ASEAN Studies program and a gratitude speech from a UNESA exchange student. Guided by the Master of Ceremonies, Ibu Nisachon Chuchai, SPSPA faculty presented welcome gifts to the students, provided a comprehensive program overview, and officially announced the “Student Buddies.” Ultimately, this mobility program marks a significant milestone in building a robust international academic network, paving the way for sustainable cultural exchange and enriching educational experiences for students from both institutions.
