On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Public Administration Program under the School of Political Science and Public Administration at Walailak University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Tatsaneeya Boripis alongside student representatives, conducted a field activity under the Academic Service for Society SDGs Project titled “Transferring Community Action Planning Processes for Anti-Drug Initiatives in Villages and Schools in Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.” The event took place at Ban Pokob School in Thung Yai District, aimed at fulfilling Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education (Target 4.3.4) regarding the dissemination of educational knowledge beyond the university campus.
This initiative builds upon the success of community action planning against drugs previously implemented in Village No. 6, Khao Khao Subdistrict, Thung Song District. The project targeted 50 primary students in Grades 5–6 through a specialized training session titled “Community Code Against Drugs” under the curriculum “POKOB MODEL: Smart Kids, Drug-Free School.” The program covered five essential dimensions:

Identifying drug solicitations

Refusal skills

Cultivating negative attitudes toward various types of illicit drugs

Developing youth anti-drug leaders and surveillance networks
Additionally, students received instruction on utilizing mobile applications to seek social assistance and support.
The activity combined academic lectures with collaborative sessions alongside the school and local community, ensuring that youth gained deep understanding and practical, real-world skills. This field visit effectively scaled up educational outcomes, delivering tangible knowledge directly to the community while officially marking the conclusion of the School’s 2026 Academic Service for Society SDGs Project. It underscores the university’s commitment to building strong protective shields and sustainably enhancing the quality of life for local youth.
