The International Relations Program, School of Political Science and Public Administration, Walailak University, in collaboration with the Geo-Social and Cultural Research Center for Sustainable Development (GSCR), Walailak University, co-hosted the English Speech Contest titled “SDGs: Future Beyond 2030,” competing for the Royal Trophy graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The event was jointly organized with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Dusit University, and was held at Suan Dusit University, Bangkok, on 26 November 2025.

The activity aimed to provide a platform for upper secondary and higher education students to express their creativity, English language proficiency, and critical perspectives on the future. The theme “Future Beyond 2030” not only reflects awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set through 2030, but also invites young people to collectively imagine and propose responsible and participatory pathways for global development beyond that milestone.

The competition attracted over 200 submissions from upper secondary school students and university students across the country for consideration in the final round. A total of more than 40 finalists from both educational levels were selected to compete in the final round held on 26 November 2025.

In addition, faculty members from the International Relations Program, School of Political Science and Public Administration, were honored to serve as award presenters for the contestants. These included Assistant Professor Dr. Siriporn Sombunburana, Head of the International Relations Program and Head of the Geo-Social and Cultural Research Center for Sustainable Development, Walailak University. Furthermore, Dr. Anusorn Chaiaksorawetch, a lecturer in the International Relations Program, was honored to serve as a judge for the English speech contest at the upper secondary school level.

he project was successfully completed and marked an important milestone in academic collaboration between Walailak University and its network of universities in central Thailand. It also provided a valuable opportunity to further promote the academic programs, the School, and the University to a wider audience. Dr. Thassana Nuansomsri served as the project coordinator, supervised student training, and traveled with the students for this activity. In total, four representatives, including faculty members and students from the International Relations Program of Walailak University, participated in the event.
