The Political Science Mentorship Project: Exploring Southern Thai Politics – Opening the World of Knowledge at Walailak University, Mahad Islam Imaniyah Foundation School

On Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the Bachelor of Political Science Program, School of Political Science and Public Administration, Walailak University, organized the project “Political Science Seniors Guiding Juniors through Southern Thai Politics: Opening the World of Knowledge at Walailak University” at Mahad Islam Imaniyah Foundation School, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The activity aimed to create a shared learning space between university students and Grade 11 students through creative learning processes. These included the game “Southern Cities in Timeline,” storytelling on Southern Thai politics through photographs, drawings, and keywords, as well as the activity “Senior Sharing, Junior Exchange (Showcase).” In this session, third-year Political Science students presented case studies on Southern Thai politics and facilitated an open and friendly exchange of ideas.

In addition, the project featured academic guidance sessions on further education and preparation for university life at Walailak University. These sessions enabled students to gain an overall understanding of studying Political Science through direct experiences and helped inspire them to plan their future educational pathways.

The project not only promoted the integration of knowledge from the Southern Thai Politics course but also enhanced students’ communication skills, community engagement, and their development as public intellectuals committed to serving society. Furthermore, it strengthened sustainable and positive relationships between the university and local schools. 🤍
