
On the afternoon of July 14, 2025, Walailak University, through the School of Political Science and Public Administration in collaboration with the Cooperative Education and Career Development Center, organized a welcoming event for exchange students from ITP Markandeya Bali and Universitas Mataram (UNRAM), Republic of Indonesia, at Khao Luang Meeting Room, Walailak University.
The event was honored by Professor Dr. Phadungsak Sooksaard, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Walailak University, who presided over the welcoming ceremony for the visiting administrators and students. In his remarks, he emphasized the university’s policy of promoting academic and cultural exchange as a key driver in strengthening the institution’s internationalization efforts.
The event was also graced by Assoc. Prof. Dr. I Wayan Numertayasa, President of ITP Markandeya Bali, and Asst. Prof. Pande Agus Adiwijaya, Vice President of ITP Markandeya Bali, who expressed their gratitude and delight at the beginning of this academic collaboration with Walailak University. They emphasized the importance of academic exchange in promoting education, research, and mutual cultural understanding between the two countries.
On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Neeranart Kaewprasert Rakkangthong, Acting Dean of the School of Political Science and Public Administration, also welcomed the exchange students and opened a platform for faculty members from the International Relations program and students from the ASEAN Studies program (Class of 2021) to participate in the activities and build meaningful connections with international students.

The event featured cultural exchange performances from both universities, including a traditional Thai welcome dance by Thai students and authentic Indonesian cultural performances by students from the two partner universities. The activities created a warm and friendly atmosphere filled with a spirit of friendship and mutual appreciation.
In addition, Walailak University’s Cooperative Education and Career Development Center organized a sharing session featuring Indonesian students who had previously participated in the university’s cooperative education program. They shared their first-hand experiences, offered valuable insights, and inspired the new batch of exchange students preparing for their upcoming internships.
This event not only strengthened academic collaboration but also served as a platform for mutual learning between Thai and Indonesian students, fostering regional understanding and building lasting friendships within the ASEAN community.15
