Walailak University’s School of Political Science and Public Administration Expands Collaboration with UiTM Malaysia to Strengthen ASEAN Academic Programs and Networks

On May 5, 2025, faculty members from the School of Political Science and Public Administration, Walailak University, visited Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, under the project “Building Collaboration with Universities in ASEAN and Asia.” The visit aimed to establish academic networks and develop international-level educational programs.

The delegation consisted of three faculty members: Asst. Prof. Dr. Ratchadathip Uppathampracha, Assistant Dean for International Affairs Dr. Anusorn Chaiaksornwech, Acting Head of the International Relations Program Mr. Abdulroya Panamalae, Lecturer in International Relations.The three representatives engaged in meetings with UiTM administrators and faculty members to discuss and exchange ideas on strengthening academic and research collaboration.

Five Core Objectives of the Collaboration
This collaborative initiative focuses on five key objectives:
1.Developing academic programs in ASEAN and Asia – exchanging teaching methods and creating curricula that meet international standards.
2.Faculty and staff exchange – promoting mobility of lecturers and experts to enhance teaching and research capacity.
3.Student exchange and cross-cultural experiences – providing opportunities for students to gain intercultural competence and foreign language skills.
4.Building academic and research networks – fostering joint research projects and generating new bodies of knowledge.
5.Enhancing the university’s reputation – reinforcing its role as a regional hub for international learning and research.

The faculty members from Walailak University expressed their gratitude and appreciation for UiTM’s warm hospitality, while reaffirming their commitment to continuing and expanding this partnership in the future.
